The section interpreted as Kangeq sediments, of Upper Cretaceous age, contains reflections that may indicated the presence of sands that could act as reservoirs, in a similar way to equivalent-age sands in the Fylla Structural Complex illustrated in Fig. 4.4.2. The attitude of the faults in this and near-by sections indicate that the structures were formed during an episode of strike-slip faulting, probably during the Palaeogene.
